About Microcertec
MICROCERTEC is a French company specialized in the design and manufacture of custom-made technical ceramic and silica parts for high-technology industrial sectors. Based in Collégien (Seine-et-Marne), with a second site in Bazet (Hautes-Pyrénées), the company masters the entire chain : design adapted to the characteristics of the materials, forming, precision machining, metallization and brazing.Our history
A family-owned company founded in 1971 under the name Spoumd, acquired in 1986 by the British technical ceramics company Morgan Matroc, of which it remained a subsidiary until 2004. That year, an MBO (management buy-out) carried out by three directors gave birth to Microcertec S.A.S.The company then grew through internal growth and through the acquisition of two companies with complementary activities : CTVM in 2012, and Cerafast in late 2017. Since January 2025, CTVM’s glass blowing and tubular glass-to-metal fittings activity has been sold to the company COLEGLASS.
Three companies, one group
Today, MICROCERTEC brings together three complementary companies under a single holding and a common management :- MICROCERTEC S.A.S (Collégien, 77) : high-precision machining of technical ceramics and silicas by grinding, ultrasonic machining and laser micro-machining
- CERAFAST (Bazet, 65) : isostatic pressing and multi-axis precision green machining of aluminas and zirconias
- CTVM (Collégien, 77) : glass-to-metal seals, filaments and Bayard Alpert gauges
R&D recognition
Microcertec holds the CIR/CII accreditation (Research Tax Credit / Innovation Tax Credit) issued by the Directorate General for Research and Innovation (DGRI) of the French Ministry of Higher Education and Research, for the 2023–2026 period.Facilities dedicated to R&D and precision prototyping :

Frequently asked questions
Which ceramic materials does Microcertec machine?
Microcertec works with alumina, zirconia, aluminium nitride, silicon nitride, silicon carbide, Macor®, quartz, as well as sapphire, boron carbide and boron nitride. The choice of material depends on the properties required (electrical insulation, thermal resistance, mechanical strength or biocompatibility in particular).
What tolerances can Microcertec guarantee on precision machining?
Thanks to diamond grinding, ultrasonic machining and laser micro-machining, Microcertec achieves dimensional and geometric tolerances below 10 µm, and even less than 5 µm depending on the dimensions of the part, with surface finishes Ra as low as 0.1 µm.
Does Microcertec manufacture prototypes and small series?
Yes. Precision machining (grinding, ultrasonics, laser) makes it possible to produce prototypes and small series without significant tooling costs, unlike pressing-sintering which is better suited to larger series.
Can all ceramics be brazed to metal?
No. Only certain ceramics are suitable, mainly alumina, sapphire and ruby, and to a lesser extent aluminium nitride, zirconia and silicon nitride. The associated metal must have a coefficient of expansion close to that of the ceramic — iron-nickel alloys (Kovar type) and titanium are the best suited.
In which sectors are Microcertec's ceramic parts used?
Mainly in scientific analysis equipment, high vacuum, power electronics, microelectronics, photonics, medical and dental instrumentation, aerospace, sensors and energy.
Is Microcertec quality certified?
Yes, Microcertec's quality system is ISO 9001:2015 certified. The company also holds the CIR/CII accreditation (Research/Innovation Tax Credit) issued by the DGRI for the 2023-2026 period.
What is the difference between Microcertec, Cerafast and CTVM?
