Filaments & filament blocks
CTVM is also specialized in the manufacturing of large multi-strand filaments, a few millimeters in diameter and up to 4 meters long, as well as filaments and glass-sealed ceramic-metal filament blocks for high-vacuum and ultra-high-vacuum applications.This expertise is unique in today’s industry, and we have decades of experience in this field. We are fully integrated for the production of these filaments, whose forming techniques vary depending on their size. Wire diameters range from 60 μm to 2 mm. Our filaments are either used as stand-alone components or assembled onto filament blocks, welded onto pins hermetically sealed into insulating ceramic blocks.

Our product range includes:
- Small emissive filaments, with spiral- or hairpin-shaped wires, from 0.06 to 0.5 mm in diameter
- Large multi-strand sublimation filaments, twisted, with diameters of a few millimeters and lengths exceeding 4 meters
- Filament blocks, with the filament welded onto pins sealed into an insulating ceramic block.
These filaments are manufactured from metal wires. The most commonly used metal grades at CTVM are:
- tungsten,
- iridium,
- tantalum,
- molybdenum
Ytria coatings are also possible. Additionally, CTVM can, if needed, source and work with custom metal grades upon request.
