The hermetic joining of a window or viewport into a metal flange is of real interest for use in extreme conditions or whenever an absolute reliability is requested. This particularly true for those applications where a glued assembly cannot meet the requirements for leak-tightness in very high vacuum, for resistance to elevated temperatures or conversely cryogenics temperatures, or repeated vibrations. PNL INNOTECH's first choice for the assembly of a viewport goes for high temperature brazing so that it has the necessary properties to resist to those hostile environments.
Applications
PNL INNOTECH has a recognized technology that permits to offer brazed windows to be used into optoelectronics detection and vision instruments for such high-tech applications as :
- high energy physics (synchrotrons, accelerators…)
- epitaxial thin-film deposition
- optical spectrum analyzers
- infra-red detectors
- thermal imagers
- image intensification.
Products
Depending upon the operation wavelength of the customer’s device PNL INNOTECH can offer four standard types of UHV windows or viewports brazed onto a metal flange :
- sapphire-titanium window
- silica-titanium window
- calcium fluoride-titanium window
- magnesium fluoride-titanium window
